Dr. Serena Bhela, a Bay Area native, joined Diablo Nephrology in February 2020. She obtained her medical degree at St. George’s University in 2013. She then moved to New York and underwent her Internal Medicine training at the New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn. Thereafter, she completed her fellowship in Nephrology at the State University of New York Downstate where she served as Chief Fellow and developed her interest in teaching. She has since returned home to the East Bay.
Dr. Bhela is board certified in both Nephrology and Internal Medicine. She is an active member of the American Society of Nephrology, American Medical Association and American College of Physicians. Her personal hobbies include cooking, hiking and traveling. She will be seeing patients in our Concord location.
