Dr. May Chiu joined West Coast Kidney Institute in 1998. She attended Albany Medical College in New York, and trained in internal medicine at Oregon Health Science University. Thereafter, she completed a fellowship in nephrology at the University of Chicago with special training in transplant nephrology, kidney stones, and kidney disease during pregnancy. She served on the faculty at the University of Chicago before joining West Coast Kidney Institute.
Dr. Chiu is board certified in both nephrology and internal medicine. She is the Chief of Nephrology at John Muir Hospital – Concord Campus and serves on several hospital committees, as well as being the medical director of the Fresenius Brentwood hemodialysis unit and medical director of the Acute Dialysis Services at the John Muir Medical Center. In addition, she is a member of The National Kidney Foundation, American Society of Nephrology, and American Society of Transplant.
Dr. Chiu sees patients in our Concord office. She is fluent in Mandarin and Taiwanese.
