Edward Kim, MD, MPH, MHS

Dr. Edward Kim joined Diablo Nephrology in 2007 after completing his nephrology fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Hospital.  He received the Osler Teaching Award for Outstanding Teaching by a Fellow at Johns Hopkins University and was nominated for the String of Pearls teaching award during his internal medicine residency at Georgetown University Hospital.

Dr. Kim also received his Master of Public Health at Tulane University School of Public Health & Tropical Medicine and worked at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) before returning home and earning his medical degree at the University of Hawaii.  His interest in public health and preventive medicine continued throughout his career, as he earned a Master of Health Science in cardiovascular epidemiology at the Bloomberg School of Public Health concurrent to his nephrology fellowship.  Dr. Kim bases his medical care on the principles of his public health background to establish a strong, reciprocal doctor/patient relationship.

Dr. Kim is board-certified in nephrology.

Dr. Kim see patients in our Walnut Creek and Antioch office and is medical director of Fresenius San Miguel Dialysis Unit.
